Just a couple of explorers

Our tight-knit crew is at the core of our global community, rallying every day behind people who push the world to be better. Our nine to five is far from dull. It’s people-oriented. It’s fast-paced. It’s playful. Creativity, it brings energy, laughter, and innovation into everything that we do. It inspires us to walk away from what is known and to pursue what could be.

Cydney Trapp

Executive Assistant

Cydney is Uncharted’s Executive Assistant (specifically to the CEO, but she likes helping everyone), and spends her days answering emails, researching whatever new thing needs investigating, and chasing the dogs around the office demanding cuddles. Before starting at Uncharted, Cydney graduated from University of Denver, worked as a TEFL teacher in the Czech Republic, was a professional chef, and spent the last 3 years as a finance professional. She then made the shift into nonprofits after spending a bit as a Lyft driver and helping run an AirBnb.

In her free time, Cydney works on building her skills as an aerialist (so many pull ups!), plays Dungeons and Dragons with her #girltribe, volunteers with a couple places around the city, and drinks any bourbon that isn’t Laws. When the weather is nice, you can probably find her in a pool, a creek, or in Cheseman Park with her dog-niece.

What inspires you?
Those people in my life who live life out loud for the betterment of others, who will not sit idly by when there is injustice being done, who love recklessly and share their resources with no concern for scarcity. The people who create spaces to be ourselves, together, to do community across traditional socioeconomic borders, who work out with their hands what they feel in their hearts—these people inspire me.

Fun fact:
I’m a circus freak! Aerial silks and tarot reading, specifically, and I love working circus gigs whenever I can get them.

Former Chief of Staff, Teach for America

Will grew up in a low-income family in rural Colorado, and became the first in his family to attend college. While in college, Will was fortunate enough to discover his two life passions: entrepreneurship and education. During his senior year he founded a start-up aimed at making college more affordable for students like himself, and led that organization as CEO for the next 5 years, growing the company from 3 to 15 employees, and revenues 2.4x each year on average. He then joined the staff of Teach For America, where he held a number of leadership roles as the organization grew from impacting 80,000 students nationwide to over 500,000 students nationwide during his tenure. While at Teach For America Will solidified his belief that solving socio-economic disparity is the root solution to a majority of the problems in our society. He also discovered a unique strength in helping others reach their full potential, and has been coaching and mentoring management teams and CEOs to create the conditions for success in their organizations ever since.
